International Dance Rewards

As of September 2020, The Heights will be introducing the International Dance Rewards scheme to all lessons from Pre-school to Grade 5. Pupils will earn certificates and cloth badges (to be sewn onto their Heights' hoodie/onesie) for reaching key milestones relevant to their stage of dance.

Level Descriptions

Dancing Together

Ballet

This is for those preschoolers who are coming into class with a grown up and taking lessons in Ballet.

There are 6 levels to cover the 2 year period students may spend in this stage (e.g: 18 months – 3 yrs old); Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and then Purple.

Preschool

Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap

This is for those preschoolers who are coming into class by themselves, without a parent or carer, and taking lessons in Ballet.

There are 6 levels to cover the 2 year period students may spend in this stage (eg: 3 – 5 yrs old); Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and then Purple.

Early Years

Acro & Musical Theatre

This is for preschool aged children.

There are 6 levels to cover the 2 year period students may spend in this stage; Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and then Purple.

Preliminary

Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap, Street Dance

This is for those in Year R or Year 1. Equivalent to school aged children transitioning from the Early Years Curriculum in Key Stage 1.

There are 6 levels to cover the 2 year period students may spend in this stage (eg: 5 – 7 yrs old); Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and then Purple.

Primary

Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap, Street Dance, Acro, Musical Theatre

This is for those in Year 2 or Year 3. Equivalent to school aged children in Key Stage 1.

There are 6 levels to cover the 2 year period students may spend in this stage (eg: 7 – 9 yrs old); Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and then Purple.

Level 1

All Genres

Aimed at students working towards their Grade 1 / Level 1 or equivalent with any dance board.

Level 2

All Genres

Aimed at students working towards their Grade 2 / Level 2 or equivalent with any dance board.

Level 3

All Genres

Aimed at students working towards their Grade 3 / Level 3 or equivalent with any dance board.

Level 4

All Genres

Aimed at students working towards their Grade 4 / Level 4 or equivalent with any dance board.

Level 5

All Genres

Aimed at students working towards their Grade 5 / Level 5 or equivalent with any dance board.
